Why this matters
Federal licensees changing a business location must address the license-amendment process before commencing licensed operations at the new premises. ATF is reviewing the information collection associated with Form 5300.38, and the public comment period remains open through September 15, 2026.
Current status
This is an information-collection proposal, not permission to ignore the existing move/amendment process. Anyone planning a move should use the current form and current legal requirements while monitoring the revision.
