What ATF proposed
The NPRM would modernize the rules governing electronic generation, maintenance, and storage of FFL records. That could ultimately affect how dealers design bound-book and transaction-record systems.
Current status
The public comment period has ended. Until a final rule or other valid authorization changes the requirements, licensees should continue using electronic recordkeeping methods that comply with current law, regulations, and any applicable ATF authorization.
