Community Guidelines

The FFL Connect Community is a private discussion space for eligible members to compare experiences, talk through business and compliance issues, and help one another. It works only if members protect sensitive information and keep peer discussion separate from verified compliance guidance.

The Short Version

• Be professional. Disagreement is fine; personal attacks are not.
• Do not post purchaser PII, unredacted Forms 4473, Social Security numbers, driver-license numbers, payment-card data, passwords, or unnecessary NICS information.
• Do not use the Community as a firearm, ammunition, NFA-item, or regulated-goods marketplace or classified-ad board.
• Do not ask for or provide instructions intended to evade legal requirements or conceal noncompliance.
• Do not present speculation as an official ATF determination or FFL Connect answer.
• Do not scrape member information, spam the Community, or use it for unsolicited mass marketing.
• Report content that appears unsafe, unlawful, abusive, or materially misleading.

Peer Discussion Is Not Official Guidance

A useful answer from another member is still a peer answer. When an issue turns on legal authority or a high-risk factual situation, check the Resource Library, Regulatory Updates, primary sources, appropriate official guidance, or qualified counsel.

Protect Customer and Employee Information

Describe a scenario with the minimum information necessary. Redact names, addresses, dates of birth, identification numbers, serial numbers when unnecessary, NICS transaction information, and other data that could identify a purchaser or employee. If you would not post it on a wall inside your store, think carefully before posting it to an online discussion.

No Transaction Marketplace

The Community is for discussion and professional networking. It is not designed to arrange, advertise, broker, auction, or complete transfers of firearms, ammunition, NFA items, or other regulated goods. Business profiles may describe services, but individual discussion threads should not become classified listings.

Professional Conduct

No threats, targeted harassment, doxxing, discriminatory abuse, impersonation, knowingly false accusations, or repetitive disruptive behavior. Criticism of a business practice, agency action, regulation, vendor, or industry position can be vigorous without becoming personal abuse.

Commercial Posts and Vendor Participation

Genuine answers from vendors and service providers can be useful, but undisclosed self-promotion, repeated solicitation, affiliate spam, or harvesting member contact information is not permitted. Material commercial relationships should be disclosed when relevant to a recommendation.

Moderation

FFL Connect may move, close, edit, hide, or remove content and may restrict community privileges to enforce these guidelines. Moderation decisions may consider context, repetition, risk, and the effect on the community. Reporting a post flags it for review; it does not guarantee removal.

Issues That Need Verified Authority

If the answer could affect a transfer, inspection response, license status, NFA matter, manufacturing classification, criminal exposure, or another consequential decision, use the Resource Library and primary sources first. Consult qualified counsel or appropriate official guidance when the facts or risk require it.
