Getting Started with FFL Connect
FFL Connect is organized so you can begin with the type of problem you have rather than learning a complicated navigation system. The workflow below is a good starting point for a new member.
1. Complete your account and business profile
Add your FFL type, SOT status, state, and business information. These fields help the platform present more relevant information. If you want your business publicly listed, opt into the Member Directory from My Business.
2. Browse the Resource Library
Start with the “FFL Compliance: Start Here” resource, then filter by the topic you are working on—Form 4473, A&D records, inspections, NFA, manufacturing, shipping, employees, and more.
3. Review current Regulatory Updates
Check the status badge before acting. Proposed rules, comment periods, withdrawn rules, and rescinded guidance are included because they matter, but they are not all current requirements.
4. Complete core training
Owners and employees should begin with the employee fundamentals course and then move into Form 4473 quality control, inspection readiness, reporting, and data-handling modules.
5. Use the Community for peer discussion
The Community is useful for comparing experiences and practical operations. Do not treat a peer post as verified FFL Connect guidance without checking the source.
6. Verify consequential decisions
Pro members can use the AI assistant to search the curated knowledge base conversationally. When an issue remains uncertain, fact-sensitive, state-specific, or high-risk, verify the primary authority and consult qualified counsel or appropriate official guidance.
